Below is an abstract of the report:
Negative impact on corn market from decline in livestock inventories
Influenced by the outbreak of the foot-and-mouth disease and the fall in livestock prices, China's livestock farm inventories registered a general decline in May. This also caused demand for feed to remain weak and exert a negative impact on the corn market as well. Looking ahead for June, analysts expect prices to edge higher in most regions.
This 2-page report includes:
1. Outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease hindered replacement of livestock farm inventories
2. Farmers' interest in corn sales has become keener following completion of spring sowing
3. New corn growth on schedule in the north-eastern production regions
4. Slowdown in China's corn export
