TPP to be the highlight of Dairy Asia Pacific Summit 2015

On November 18-20, 2015, delegates from some of the region's leading dairy producers, suppliers and distributors will meet in Singapore with government representatives from Asia Pacific to exchange information and encourage the industry's development, against the backdrop of developments in the Trans-Pacific-Partnership (TPP).

The TPP is being negotiated and shaped by 12 countries in the Pacific Rim and many speculators suggest that it will be finally agreed upon by the middle of next year. The TPP would link several economies in Asia Pacific by eliminating trade barriers and harmonising regulations. The agreement would cover two-fifths of the world economy and a third of all global trade.

Although this is of interest to countless industries, it also has serious implications for the dairy industry as countries such as New Zealand want improved market access for their agricultural produce, especially dairy goods.

At the Summit, government representatives will explain recent policy changes while leading individuals from the industry will share with attendees their invaluable experiences in the Asia Pacific market and offer suggestions on how best to understand customers in the region and secure sustainable growth.

The event will be a good opportunity for those already in the Asia Pacific dairy industry or those who are looking to enter it. There will be a comprehensive range of informative talks on all aspects of the business for one to get up to date. There will also be ample networking opportunities to meet potential clients or business partners.
