China starts buying frozen pork to stem hog price fall 

China began buying frozen pork Saturday (June 13) to limit falling hog prices, stabilize hog production and protect livestock raisers, the Ministry of Commerce said over the weekend.

The purchases are being conducted via electronic bidding, it said in a statement.
