Newcastle disease reoccur in Azerbaijan
The veterinary authorities in Azerbaijan have just reported a single case of the velogenic strain of Newcastle disease virus to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE).
The case - in the Siazan region in the east of the country - started in mid-February and was described as resolved on 23 March.
According to the report, 1.3 million 27-day-old broilers were affected, of which 1,390 died and 24,579 were destroyed.
