Saudi may import beef from Ireland pending inspection approval
Saudi Arabian meat experts will inspect Irish beef and beef plants to determine whether the meat has met the kingdom's food regulations.
The approval would mean beef shipment in thousand or more tonnes annually.
Irish Agriculture Minister Mary Coughlan said the delegation will arrive in Ireland on Sunday for the week-long trip.
It follows a trade mission to the Middle East by Bertie Ahern this year.
Minister Coughlan added she hoped the visit "will lead to the early re-opening of the Saudi market for Irish beef".
