Ukraine 2005 wheat export climbs to 7.5 million tonnes

Contracts for the export of wheat harvested in 2005 concluded at Ukraine's exchanges totaled 7.5 million tonnes by Wednesday (Jun 14), the APK-Inform market analyst reported Thursday(Jun 15), quoting the union of agrarian exchanges of Ukraine.

The total figure of export contracts included 4.17 million tonnes of milling wheat and 3.33 million tonnes of feed wheat.

APK-Inform forecasts Ukraine wheat exports in the current marketing year - which runs Jul 2005-Jun 2006 - at 6.2 million tonnes, compared with 4.38 million tonnes in the previous marketing year.

Ukraine's wheat harvest in 2005 was 18.7 million tonnes, compared with 17.5 million tonnes in 2004.
