Pakistan to open up wheat trade
In order to keep wheat prices stable, wheat trade in Pakistan would be deregulated, according to Pakistan's government. Wheat stock management would also be privatised but the government would still procure wheat for strategic reserves to stabilise prices.
Pakistan's government reports that the six percent withholding tax on wheat trade would be removed but Pakistan would not allow Indian wheat imports due to quarantine reasons.
The Pakistani government also sees great potential in Afghanistan's market to export wheat or wheat flour.
