Denmark uses less medicine at pig farms
The use of medicines at Danish pig farms has declined by 26% to 26 tonnes from January-April 2011 in contrast to 36 tonnes in the same period last year, according to the most recent statistics from VetStat that is subordinated to the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration.
This comes following a steady increase over the past ten years.
Politicians welcome the decline but are demanding that the use of medicines should drop further to the level recorded among organic pig farmers.
