Brazilian beef exports up 28.14 percent in May

Brazil's beef exports posted an increase of 28.14 percent in May this year worth US$443 million or 266,000 tonnes, according to Brazilian meat exporters association Abiec (Associacao Brasileira das Industrias Exportadoras de Carne).

From January to May, Brazilian beef shipments totalled US$1.8 billion, 39.41 percent more compared to US$1.3 billion earned on the same period last year. Total volume exports also increased 33.42 percent by 1.1 million tonnes, compared to last year's 885,000 metric tonnes from the same period.
