Unconfirmed bird flu outbreak in Brunei

Brunei has reportedly found its first case of bird flu from a routine government check on a poultry farm. About 100 H5N1 positive chickens were culled, and people from the farm have been quarantined and tested for infection.

However, the government responded that the reported case was actually only a drill conducted to measure team competence in combating any appearance of bird flu. It also added that chicken farms are continuously observed to ensure that good measures are being implemented and that bacterial and virus analysis of samples are taken.
