Vilkyskiu's January-May sales up 9% to US$42 million
In January-May 2012, Lithuania's Vilkyskiu Pienine (Vilkyskiai Dairy) reported sales of LTL115.4 million (US$42 million), a 9% increase on year.
Consolidated sales for May were up by 5% from a year ago to LTL24.8 million (US$9 million), the dairy producer said in a statement to the NASDAQ OMX Vilnius stock exchange.
The Vilkyskiu Pienine Group suffered LTL1.234 million (US$447,000) in consolidated net losses in the first quarter of this year, versus LTL1.517 million (US$549,000) in net profits a year ago.
The group posted LTL10.641 million (US$3.8 million) in consolidated net profits for the full year 2011, down 11.2% from LTL11.842 million (US$4.3 million) in 2010.
Vilkyskiu Pienine owns 99.7% of shares in Modest and 99% of Kelmes Pienine (Kelme Dairy).
The dairy producer, which is based in Vilkyskiai, in western Lithuania, is quoted on the blue-chip Main List of the Vilnius stock exchange.
