China's May food prices drop 0.8%

 

 

Food prices in China dropped by 0.8% last month, making consumer price index (CPI) decline by about 0.25 percentage points, according to latest data.

 

Fresh vegetable price dropped by 6.9%, making CPI down by around 0.24 percentage points. Poultry and poultry product price fell by 1.4%, making CPI down 0.10 percentage points.

 

Pork price dropped by 3.0%, making CPI drop by roughly 0.10 percentage point. Aquatic product rose by 0.4%.
