New Zealand's seafood export likely up on high foreign demands
As demand from China, the US and Australia remains high, the value of New Zealand's seafood exports is expected to rise.
That's the view of a report by the Ministry for Primary Industries, which says strong demand and limited global supply will push the seafood industry's earnings to about US$1.6 billion.
The Seafood Industry Council's general manager of trade and information, Alistair MacFarlane, says that demand will shift the industry's export focus from Europe.
