WWF aims to accredit environmental-friendly beef
The World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), one of the world's largest conservation groups, plans to identify farmers who produce beef in an environmentally friendly way.
The WWF plans to accredit beef and set up supply agreements so consumers can choose 'greener' products.
WWF Australia's Nick Heath said his group is targeting the world's largest beef producing countries.
WWF offices in the US, Brazil and Australia are working hard to try to bring together a worldwide initiative to accredit beef, but it's early days, Heath said.
