Ukraine to become EU's main supplier of raw material for feed

Ukraine may become the main supplier of raw material for mixed feed production in the EU, said Horst Seehofer, German Federal Minister for Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection.

Seehofer noted that in Germany and in other parts of the EU, there is a problem of providing the animal industry with mixed feed, especially with the upswing of the biofuel industry.

The minister pointed out that Ukraine's problems on insufficient funds and lack of investments in the agrarian sector has practically been solved, raising its potential to be a provider of raw materials for feed.

In the future, Germany will actively develop consulting centers on agrarian questions in Ukraine, the minister said.
