Sask Wheat narrows Q3 loss on better grain handling volumes
Saskatchewan Wheat Pool narrowed its loss in the latest quarter on increased grain handling volumes, enhanced port terminal efficiencies and improved margins.
During the three months ended Apr 30, 2006, the agribusiness lost C$8.3 million or 10 Canadian cents a share versus a loss of C$916,000 or C$1.92 a share a year earlier.
Third-quarter revenue rose to C$336.5 million from C$288.0 million due to the significant increase in grain volumes moving through the Pool's integrated pipeline.
