Polish agricultural ministry lifts bird flu poultry restrictions
The Polish Agriculture Minister lifted all restrictions on poultry producers that were aimed at combating the risk of bird flu spreading in Poland, the ministry said Friday (Jun 5).
In February, Poland imposed a ban on free-range poultry, requiring farmers to keep all domesticated fowl in covered enclosures. The ministry also banned all bird shows and fairs.
In March, laboratory tests confirmed five cases of H5N1 bird flu in dead wild birds found in Poland.
