China's May soy imports at 4.37 million tonnes

 
 

China imported 4.37 million tonnes of soy in May, up from 4.19 million tonnes in April, according to official customs figures.

 

Imports in the first five months rose 12.8% on-year to 19.6 million tonnes, said the General Administration of Customs.

 

China also imported 560,000 tonnes of vegetable oils in May, bringing the total imports in the first five months to 2.6 million tonnes, down 2.9% from a year earlier, figures showed. China imports mainly soyoil, rapeseed oil and palm oil.
