CBOT grain futures rise, livestock prices mostly drop
Grain futures rose Thursday (June 10) on the Chicago Board of Trade, while livestock futures mostly fell.
Wheat for July delivery gained 8 cents to US$4.36 a bushel; July corn rose 8.75 cents to US$3.47 a bushel; July oat soared 8.75 cents to US$2.1275 a bushel; and July soy added 4.75 cents to US$9.4825 a bushel.
Beef and pork futures were mostly lower on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.
June live cattle added 0.20 cents to 89.85 cents a pound; August feeder cattle slipped 0.12 cents to US$1.0910 a pound; June lean hogs shed 0.15 cents to 77.30 cents a pound; and July pork bellies lost 0.75 cents to 95.75 cents a pound.
