Chinese Vice Minister Niu Dun met with visiting Namibian Minister of Fisheries, Bernhardt Martin Esau, to discuss the opportunities for enhancing bilateral cooperation in fisheries.
To that end, the Vice Minister proposed five pieces of suggestions: first, to sign the MOU on bilateral cooperation in fisheries as soon as possible; second, to establish the task force on bilateral cooperation in fisheries according to the MOU; third, to strive for more capital support for the cooperation; fourth, to sign the cooperation agreement on animal health and animal quarantine as soon as possible to promote agricultural trade; and fifth, to enhance personnel exchanges and training.
Besides, Niu hoped that the two sides could work together to promote investment and development cooperation among fishery enterprises of the two countries.
Minister Esau fully agreed with the Chinese proposals and stated his strong will to promote bilateral cooperation in fisheries.
