AKVA group has signed a turn-key contract with Sundsfjord Smolt for delivery of a complete UNI recirculation hatchery that will produce eight to 10 million Atlantic salmon smolts annually.

The system is the first of its kind in Norway, and is scheduled for start-up in February 2010. AKVA group signed a contract for the delivery of piping, feed systems and underwater light systems for the same installation earlier this year.

"The turn-key contract with Sundsfjord is a result of a thorough engineering pre-project, which also included the approval of the third party research institute SINTEF", says AKVA group's CMO, Trond Severinsen. 

AKVA Group is a provider of technology to the global fish farming industry. Products consist of software systems, operational equipment and sensor systems, feed systems, cage systems, net cleaning systems, light systems and recirculation aquaculture systems.
