US recall poultry, meat products over possible contamination

The US Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has issued a Class I recall of about 79,312 pounds of assorted ready-to-eat poultry and meat products.

FSIS received reports from Cameco, Inc., a Verona, New Jersey, food distributor about possible high risk meat and poultry products.

The ready-to-eat foods may have been contaminated with under-processed ham elements after possible contact with machinery surfaces used to process pork products.

The possibly contaminated items were made on May 29, 2009 and June 1, 2009. Wholesalers in Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio, Puerto Rice, South Carolina, Texas, and Virginia received shipments of the recalled items.
