Vietnam to compensate poultry farmers on bird flu losses


 

Vietnam's poultry farmers will receive state compensation equal to 70 percent of the selling price of the culled animals after bird flu has hit the country.

 

The government said that poultry the raisers are to get VND23,000 per kilogramme of chickens, ducks and geese.

                                                                         

Furthermore, raisers of pig and cattle hit by blue ear and foot and mouth disease will also get VND25,000 and VND30,000 respectively.

 

Vietnamese officials will also freeze bank loans already borrowed to develop livestock raising for one or two years, depending on the kind of domestic animals.
