Vietnam to launch clean pork project
Vietnam's Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development announced plans to launch a pilot project on the production of clean pork by the end of this year.
The programme is in line with the agriculture sector's strategy to develop a stable livestock raising industry as required recently by Vietnam's deputy prime minister Hoang Trung Hai.
Hoang Kim Giao, head of the Livestock Breeding Department of the agriculture ministry, said that the programme would be carried out before the ministry develops a raising model to increase the production of clean pork.
If approved, the model will be implemented nationwide next year.
The programme will cover design and construction of breeding facilities, breeding selection process and choosing suitable diets in accordance with each of the animal's growing phases.
The department will also issue certificates of safe production to farm owners and to production units that meet the stated criteria.
