Optivite's new Flogenic^® water treatment unit automatically chlorinates water to disinfect it, ensuring safe drinking water for animals. With its 'quick connect' attachment, the Flogenic^® can be affixed to a storage tank's water discharge point and chlorinate water flow volumes ranging from 20 litres per hour to 20 litres per minute.

 

It does not require any power and each refill automatically disinfects 90,000 litres of water at 2ppm of free chlorine. Chlorine added is proportional to water flow rate. Hence, there is no waste, as active chlorination ceases when the water flow stops. The refill can be easily and quickly replaced when needed.

 

Trials demonstrate that when broilers drank water treated using the Flogenic^® system, they grew to full size faster with lower mortality. In layers, the performance of birds showed improvement in the fall off of laying performance and fewer breakages.

 

Although pre-set to add 2ppm of chlorine to water, the Flogenic^® can be easily adjusted to disinfect up to 35,000 litres with 5ppm of chlorine. These amounts are sufficient to disinfect the water, kill water-borne pathogens and prevent its recontamination by sick animals.
