Brazilian soy exports seen to rise marginally in 2010
Brazilian exports of soy are expected to rise 3% in 2010 from 28.041 million tonnes in 2009 to 29 million tonnes.
The estimate is part of the framework of supply and demand of soy for 2009-10, released by Safras & Mercado. Processing is expected to grow 7%, jumping from 30.779 million to 33 million tonnes. Thus, the total demand would be 64.750 million tonnes, an increase of 5%.
Taking into account a production of 68.054 million tonnes in 2009-10 - 16% higher than in the previous season - the total supply would rise 11%, totaling 68.591 million tonnes. Ending stocks should go up 779% from 437,000 to 3.841 million tonnes.
