DSM introduces Carnichrome
Carnichrome has been marketed in the USA for the first time as a product in the Rovimix line of DSM Nutritional Products at World Pork Expo held in Iowa last week.
Developed by Lonza in the Swiss city of Basel, Carnichrome has been on the US market for some time but it is hoped that a greater audience can be reached by being part of a larger company. For now, the product will only be marketed by DSM in the USA and Mexico.
The product, containing L-carnitine and Chromium Picolinate is mostly aimed for use in sows. The first ingredient is essential for the metabolism of fatty acids, whereas the second assists in the metabolism of carbohydrates.
Reduced sow feed requirements and improvement of sow performances is the ultimate goals of this product.
