Ukraine's May grain exports down 45%
Citing preliminary information from Ukrainian ports, ProAgro said that Ukraine's exports of grain dropped by almost 45% to 1.35 million tonnes in May.
That compared with 2.4 million tonnes of grain exported in April, ProAgro said in e-mailed statement, without giving a reason for the decline.
Shipments of wheat fell by 58% to 281,700 tonnes compared with 675,540 in April, the researcher said. Deliveries to Israel fell by 30% and to Egypt by 77%, according to Kiev-based ProAgro.
Corn exports declined in May by 39% to 926,400 tonnes from 1.5 million tonnes a month earlier. Barley exports fell by 47% to 100,170 tonnes, ProAgro said.
