Yemen, EU discuss regulations for aquaculture exports
Yemen and EU reviewed on Sunday (Jun 6) the legislations and conditions of regulating fish export from Yemen into EU countries.
Minister of Fisheries Mohammad Shamlan and the EU aquaculture expert Roland Van talked about issuing export certificates for the aquaculture products during their meeting.
Shamlan affirmed the importance of increasing cooperation aspects between Yemen and EU in order to draft a document regulating fish trade.
He also noted the significance of benefiting from the European experience in aquaculture field as well as ensuring the quality and safety of the fish products and their suitability for export.
Van, on behalf of the EU, showed his readiness to offer any consultations in maintaining aquacultures and its products' safety in addition to assisting in preparing an integral document to standardise exports from Yemen to the EU countries.
