Extension of management at Schothorst Feed Research

Press release

Schothorst Feed Research, located in Lelystad, the Netherlands, is an internationally known research organisation for animal nutrition. The institute is also a private contract research organisation.

In the past, the organisation worked exclusively for Dutch feed cooperatives. Over the past three years, the organisation has extended its activities to the whole sector. Major customers of Schothorst Feed Research are the feed industry, within and outside the Netherlands, and suppliers of the feed industry.

The changing position of Schothorst Feed Research as an international knowledge and information centre for the feed industry is seen by growing turnover and internationalisation, which require further development of the organisation.

Globalisation of animal nutrition research and extension of the international profile of the organisation have triggered the need for a more offensive marketing strategy and organisational adaptations.

The shareholders have approved the appointment of Dr Ir. M.J.J. Hakkaart as managing director by Sep 1, 2006.

Dr Ir. P. J. van der Aar will become research director.
