Afikim's new dairy project in China's Ningxia province, TianNing farm, has delivered positive results at the start of operation.

The farm, equipped with Afimilk's milking system and herd management system, is designed by Afimilk to house 6,000 cows and 4,000 heifers. More than 3,000 cows at the farm are in their first lactation, while daily average milk production and yearly milk production have reached 30kg/head and over 9,400 litres/head, respectively.

The Afimilk milking system is fully operational, while AfiFarm software provides information on heat detection, scheduling veterinary visits and preventive health monitoring for effective herd management.

Afimilk has also organised a course on advanced dairy farming in Israel for TianNing's managers, who have attended the two-month session focused on AfiFarm herd management software, with subjects covering management of large herds, large dairy farm organisation, milking practices, nutrition and fertility. 

"The new dairy farm in China is rising rapidly with the help of Afimilk's system and the company's professional support", said Fei Rui, general manager of TianNing.

The project's underwriter, Chongqing (TianNing) Agriculture Investment Co., is seeking to replicate this project in other Chinese provinces.

Ningxia province, situated in north central of China, has a continental, semi-arid climate, which is suitable for dairy farming.
