Vietnam, Brazil trade up 38.8% in January-April
In January-April 2012, trade between Vietnam and Brazil grew 38.8% from a year earlier to US$532.62 million, including the former's trade gap of US$118.13 million.
Vietnam exported US$207.47 million worth of goods to Brazil during the period, up 27% on-year, and spent US$325.6 million on imports from that country, up 46.6%, the Ministry of Industry and Trade said on its website late Monday (June 4).
The Southeast Asian nation's main imports were animal feed worth US$50.54 million; cotton worth US$34.18 million and seafood worth US$20.51 million.
Other exports to Brazil were tobacco material, footwear, steel, iron, machinery, equipment and spare parts.
The bilateral trade soared 53.8% from a year earlier to US$1.44 billion in 2011, including the former's trade gap of US$147.11 million.
The two-way trade is forecast to reach US$4 billion by 2015.
