China's January-April grain imports total 4.85 million tonnes
The grain imports of China from January to April of 2012 soared 402.9% on-year to 4.85 million tonnes, announced the Ministry of Agriculture in their website.
In the same period the value of the country's grain imports totalled US$1.64 billion, up 305.9% from the same period of last year.
Meanwhile it exported 303,000 tonnes of grain worth US$220 million, down 12.1% and 4.2% on-year respectively.
