Seafood exports of Vietnam's Soc Tang province earns US$100 million
Seafood exports from Vietnam's Southern Soc Trang province for the first five months earned US$100.8 million, up 12.99 percent over the same period last year.
The export of nearly 10,000 tonnes of frozen shrimp, a year-on-year increase of 5.22 percent, was credited to the surge of export turnover. In May alone, the province's factories processed nearly 2,500 tonnes of shrimp for export worth US$25 million.
Soc Trang has expanded its aquaculture acreage to nearly 46,000 hectares, including 41,000 hectares for black shrimp breeding.
