Australia's beef exports to Japan falls by 0.9 percent in May
Australian beef exports bound to Japan dropped by 0.9 percent on-year to 36,183 tonnes in May, according to Meat and Livestock Australia.
The figure, however, was up 18 percent from April.
Exports of higher-value grain-fed beef came to 16,360 tonnes, down 4.1 percent year on year, while grass-fed beef exports rose 1.9 pct to 19,823 tonnes.
In January to May, Australian beef exports to Japan amounted to 162,331 tonnes, up 1.0 percent.
