Global corn production may rise by 10% in 2013-14
Global corn production for 2013-14 is expected to rise by 10% to a record 945 million tonnes, boosting stocks.
This was according to the International Grains Council on Friday (May 24).
World wheat production is expected to rise by 4% to 682 million tonnes, the IGC said in its monthly report. It added that global corn stocks were expected to rise by 27 million tonnes to 149 million tonnes by the end of the 2013-14 season, while wheat stocks were forecast to climb two million tonnes to 180 million tonnes.
