Malaysian firm to increase poultry output to six million by 2015
RT-Biofarm Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of the Pahang State Development Corporation, expects its poultry production to increase to six million chickens, per annum, by 2015.
The company's director Datuk Lias Mohd Noor said its second farm, which would commence operations by year-end, would be able to produce 200,000 birds per cycle.
Lias was speaking to reporters after signing an agreement with Kontena Nasional Bhd witnessed by Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob. The agreement allows for Kontena Nasional to transport livestock for RT-Biofarm which conducts contract poultry farming with Ayamas.
"A reliable and efficient transportation system is crucial when dealing with livestock as it will ultimately affect company margins," he said, noting that the company would not terminate the services of the present transport company which delivers livestock to Ayamas plants in Port Klang.
Lias also said Kontena Nasional was accredited with the halal status and the insurance coverage it offered was an added benefit to the company.
