Dutch institute to build new livestock facilities
Shareholders of Dutch institute Schothorst Feed Research (SFR) have agreed to build new livestock facilities due to a 20 percent sales increase last year.
The dairy unit capacity will increase to 250 from 140 animals while the pig farm will be extended.
Two layer units with a total capacity of 24,000 free-range animals will also be constructed.
These construction activities are part of an investment plan of EUR 8.5 million (US$13.1 million) which will be spread over a period of three years.
Schothorst Feed Research is an independent research institute based in the Dutch animal feed sector.
