UGC to build grain terminal in Taman port, Russia
Russia's United Grain Company (UGC) plans to invest RUB10 billion (US$323.5 million) in construction of a deep-sea grain terminal in Krasnodar Krai, Taman sea port.
The shipment capacities of the designed terminal will total around eight to nine million tonnes annually, said Sergey Levin, the head of United Grain Company.
Under the project, the company is to build a 250,000-tonne storage facility, loading machines with daily capacity of 36,000 tonnes, infrastructure to provide railroad transshipment of five million tonnes of grain and auto transport transshipment of three million of grains annually. Timeframes for the project have yet to be disclosed.
