Venky's to expand into various countries

Venky's will foray into other parts of the world, as part of its expansion plans, just as it has recently set up a poultry feed manufacturing facility in Vietnam.
Â
Poultry major Venkateshwara Hatcheries (Venky's) has forayed into the Southeast Asian market by setting up a poultry feed manufacturing facility in the Tay Ninh Province of Vietnam with the total investment of INR150 crore (US$3,218,724). The plant will produce around 3,500 tonnes of poultry feed per month to cater to the requirements of poultry farmers in Vietnam. The feed plant is scheduled to become operational by the end of 2010.
Â
The company is planning to start its plant facilities in other parts of the world, in Bangladesh, the Philippines and Switzerland. The Joint Managing Director of VH Group and the Managing Director of Venky's (Vietnam) Co. Ltd. B. Venkatesh Rao said, ''Venky's provides lab services, medical facilities and poultry feed."
Â
Speaking about Venky's expansion plans, Rao added, "We have decided to start our plants in the Philippines, Bangladesh and Switzerland. We have strong sales network in Bangladesh and customer base over there. Also, Venky's has maintained good quality and status in Bangladesh and the Philippines. There has also been a demand for products with European flavour in Bangladesh.Â
Â
Talking about foraying into Switzerland, Rao said, "We are setting up a vaccine plant in Switzerland as it is a centralised location for Europe and America. Also, we have some good industry contacts as Venky's products are quite popular over here. The land for the plant has been acquired and I am finalising a few contacts right now. It will be operational by July 2010."Â Â Â
Â
Venky's (Vietnam) Co. Ltd. is also planning to establish a poultry diagnostic laboratory with all the latest diagnostics facilities in South Vietnam to provide free diagnostic and technical services to the Vietnamese poultry farmers. It will be a disease diagnostic lab. According to Rao, there are only two such laboratories in Vietnam and farmers have been hoping for more technically-sound service facilities in Vietnam.
Â
VH Group (Venkateshwara Hatcheries) is a fully integrated poultry company in India, with a turnover of INR3,600 crore (US$772,458,195). It provides complete poultry solutions from basic breeding to providing ready-to-eat chicken and processed egg variants. VH markets its products through the ''Venky's'' brand.Â
