Merial Animal Health's PCV2 sow vaccine receives two awards

The Circovac PCV2 sow vaccine, developed by Merial Animal Health, has recently received two awards from the British Pig & Poultry Fair, for its contribution to reduce mortality and improve pig performance.

The vaccine also won the ''Product Innovation Award'' sponsored by 'Pig Marketing' magazine.

It is the country's first licensed PCV2 vaccine designed to fight PCV2 diseases including PMWS, which have crippled the pig industry.

British Pig Executive (BPEX) chairman, Stewart Houston, said that Circovac unanimously chosen after feedbacks from producers indicate that the product has helped revolutionise the industry.

Houston added that the vaccine by Merial will have a massive positive impact on the profitability of the UK pig industry.
