China's Egg Prices Fell Marginally in Production Regions But Rose Sharply in Consumption Areas

In late May, egg prices in production regions of China have fallen marginally:

• In Guantao area of Hebei province, China's key chicken egg-producing region, prices fell by RMB0.07/kg;
  
  
• In Haian area of Jiangsu province, China's key poultry egg-producing region, prices dipped by RMB0.02/kg;
  
  
• In Qingyang area of Henan province, prices were down by RMB0.04/kg. 

In contrast, egg prices in China's consumption regions have risen sharply in late May:

• In Beijing, prices rose by RMB0.4/kg;
  
  
• In Shijiazhuang, prices rose by RMB0.3/kg;
  
  
• In Shenzhen, prices were up by RMB0.1/kg;
  
  
• In Binzhou area of Shandong province, prices increased by RMB0.4/kg.
