Molochny Produkt to build pig complex in Russia
Ryazan region-based agricultural firm Molochny Produkt (Milk Product) plans to put in RUB107 million (US$3.83 million) to establish a pig complex in Voronezh region, according to regional officials.
The complex, to be located in the region's Vorobyovsky municipal district, is reportedly to create 350 local jobs. Under the project, the complex is to include a breeding farm for 2,500 pigs, as well as a sow farm and feeding house for 60,000 heads. Construction is scheduled to start in 2012 and be completed in 2013.
Molochny Produkt has 17 agricultural enterpriseswhich produce milk and crops. They include two mega farms and 15 traditional farms; cattle livestock estimates at 17,000 head whereas milk herd is at 7,500 head.
