Brazil's Perdigao closes China chicken export deal
Brazil food company Perdigao will ship around 120 containers full of frozen chicken to China, a long sought-after market, the local Estado newswire reported Monday.
The news comes just 10 days after Brazilian president Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva travelled to China to talk trade with that country's leaders.
Brazil has been trying to break into the Chinese chicken market for years. Brazil is the world's leading chicken exporter.
