New investor joins Vietnam's booming seafood market
The International Development and Investment Corporation (IDI) announced that it would join the booming seafood export market of Vietnam.
Truong Vinh Thanh, general director of IDI, said the demand for seafood has increased sharply as several diseases have occurred worldwide.
IDI is the developer of Vam Cong Industrial Complex, which has a total area of 43 hectares in Binh Thanh Commune, Dong Thap Province.
IDI has invested in three seafood processing factories in the Vietnamese province.
Each factory, with a capital of more than US$50 million, has a processing capacity of 600 tonnes of input materials per day.
The three factories are expected to be fully operated and reach the designed capacity by 2010.
