USDA sees decline in Ukraine's oilseeds output
In 2012/13 MY, Ukraine's general oilseeds output will reach 12.9 million tonnes, 2% lower than the same index in 2011/12 MY, according to the USDA's May estimate.
The USDA published its first forecasts of oilseed production for 2012/13 MY.
In particular in the season-2012/13 the sunflower seed harvest will total 9.5 million tonnes, which corresponds to the level of production in 2011/12 MY.
The forecast of soy production in 2012/13 MY totals 2.7 million tonnes, up 23% compared to the volume of production of the oilseed in 2011/12 MY.
However, the harvest of rapeseed in 2012/13 MY in Ukraine will total 700,000 tonnes, down 53% compared to the oilseed production in 2011/12 MY.
In general, the forecast of the world production of oilseeds in 2012/13 MY totals 471.5 million tonnes, up 34.2 million tonnes compared to the same index in the current 2011/12 MY.
