Degussa increases prices for Performance Silica effective Jun 15, 2006

Press release

Degussa's Advanced Fillers & Pigments business unit will increase its prices for Performance Silica by EUR95/tonne for standard grades and specialties on Jun 15, 2006.

This price increase has become a necessity due to extensive increases in energy costs. This development has resulted in a dramatic rise in related costs such as from raw materials and freight, which Degussa is no longer in the position to absorb.

The Advanced Fillers & Pigments business unit operates 30 plants in 18 countries and is the only one manufacturing and supplying carbon blacks (rubber and pigment blacks), performance silica, and rubber silanes from one single source. As a specialist in surface chemistry and physics, it focuses on the production and application of carbon blacks, performance silica, matting agents, functional organosilanes, and blue pigments.
