Canada's Fraser Valley Farmers To Fight Back After Bird Flu Outbreak

The slaughter of chickens in the Fraser Valley is over ¨C but there is still a lot of anger among farmers over how the Canadian federal government dealt with the avian flu outbreak.

More than 19 million chickens and other commercial birds have been culled under the direction of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.

Mike Haffenden's four geese were among them.

He says the CFIA destroyed his animals because his property is within three kilometres of a farm infected with the avian flu virus.

"They basically broke their necks right in front of me and walked away," says an angry Haffenden.
