Denmark agrees terms on food product export to Russia
Rosselkhoznadzor's deputy head Yevgeny Nepoklonov and Danish Veterinary Services representatives signed protocols on terms of chilled beef, pork and fish product import from Denmark to Russia.
The two parties signed the protocols on the sidelines of the 81st World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) General Session in Paris.
Nepoklonov indicated that the EU product traceability system could not be considered efficient, citing the detection of horse meat in finished meat products in the EU territory, which forced Russia to come to additional agreements with individual countries that are ready to provide additional guarantees on product safety.
The situation is further complicated by the fact that veterinary certificates for EU products do not indicate raw materials' country of origin. Rosselkhoznadzor concerns about the probability that unauthorized EU products are exported to Russia through Denmark, and insists on use of raw materials of Danish origin for products exported to Russia.
