Russia may harvest 56 million tonnes wheat in 2012

 

 

In 2012, Russia is seen to harvest 56 million tonnes of wheat, almost the same as in 2011, with its wheat export potential at 22 million-23 million tonnes in the 2012-13 marketing year and total grain export potential nearly 30 million tonnes, Head of the Russian Grain Union Arkady Zlochevsky said Wednesday (May 30).

 

Zlochevsky said Russia's grain export between the beginning of the current marketing year July 1, 2011 and May 16 this year totalled 25.1 million tonnes. He said grain exports in March totalled 1.827 million tonnes, including 1.365 million tonnes wheat, 211,000 tonnes barley, and 200,000 tonnes corn.

 

Grain exports in April totalled 2.88 million tonnes, including 1.288 million tonnes wheat.
